Dubai is already skillfully dictating trends that boldly weave a modern vision into traditional Arab fashion, turning the streets of the Emirates into a podium for chic and elegance. Between the majestic skyscrapers of Dubai and the golden sands of the desert, a unique fashion culture is being born, combining centuries-old traditions with modernity. And there is no way this could not be the case – the most expensive brands have special lines for the emirate, and with its malls with boutiques by Chanel, Dior, Valentino and over 60 local designer brands, Dubai is not just a shopping paradise – it is a place where fashion definitely has an important place.
The Arabic style – between heritage and the world stage
Fashion in the Arab world is deeply connected to cultural identity. As is known, conservative customs prevail in the region and clothing should be tailored to the conditions and occasion. But it must also be acknowledged that the traditional abaya (a dark robe worn by women in the region) and the hijab (a headscarf) are being reinterpreted today in a new way: light fabrics, crystal embroidery, geometric silhouettes and unexpected color combinations. Leading designers from the region are transforming traditional clothing into luxurious clothing that is not inferior to global standards of elegance. Elie Saab
A Lebanese designer known for his unique, delicate style with a Middle Eastern twist. Saab's delicate creations are favored by many world celebrities, including Halle Berry, Queen Rania of Jordan, and even Bulgarian actress Nina Dobrev. His favorite silhouette is one that emphasizes a woman's curves.
Zuhair Murad
Another Lebanese designer known for his detailed embroideries and ethereal fabrics, Murad is a favorite of many celebrities on the red carpet, including ADELE, Marion Cotillard, Jennifer Lopez, and Shakira.
Mohammed Ashi
Saudi designer and founder of Ashi Studio, known for his architectural silhouettes and minimalist style. In 2023, he became the first Gulf designer to be invited to participate in Paris Haute Couture Week.
Faiza Bouguessa
A French-Algerian designer based in Dubai, known for her exceptional minimalist and contemporary clothing. Her designs have been worn by celebrities such as Hailey Bieber.
Walid Atallah
Another popular name from Lebanon. Atala is based in Dubai and is also known for its gorgeous evening and bridal gowns. Atala has created one of the most expensive dresses in the world, valued at $1.2 million. He has held fashion shows in Dubai, Europe and the Middle East.
