Official launch of strategic partnership
On 12 December 2025, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce officially announced the establishment of the council to strengthen economic ties and promote partnerships between the business communities in Dubai and Bulgaria. The main mission of the council is to expand investment cooperation in various sectors and facilitate the exchange of expertise and data between the two countries.
Maha Al Gargawi, Vice President of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers, stressed the importance of this initiative:
„The establishment of the Bulgarian Business Council represents an important step forward in the economic ties between Dubai and Bulgaria. The Council will help build stronger partnerships between our business communities, open new opportunities for joint investment and support the continued growth of bilateral trade.“
Stable economic growth
The launch of the Council comes at a time of upward development of bilateral relations. According to official government figures released at the launch:

Growth of trade: Trade in non-oil products between Dubai and Bulgaria reached 777 million dirhams (AED) in 2024., marking a solid growth of 5% on an annual basis.

Business Expansion: The number of Bulgarian companies operating in Dubai is growing rapidly. By the end of the third quarter of 2025, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce registered 243 active Bulgarian companies.

Strong momentum: In the first nine months of 2025 alone, the Chamber has been joined by 54 new Bulgarian companies, which is a clear signal of increased interest and new opportunities.
Leadership with vision
The first meeting of the council was held recently at the headquarters of Dubai Chambers, where opportunities for developing new business ventures and organizing future bilateral events were discussed.
Under Mr Borissov's leadership, the council aims to become a bridge for innovation, connecting Bulgaria's potential and talent with the UAE's global ambitions.
