Big news for culture and history lovers: one of the world's most highly anticipated museums, the Zayed National Museum, will open in December 2025 in the heart of Abu Dhabi's prestigious Saadiyat Cultural District. What is Zayed National Museum?

• The UAE National Museum is dedicated to the life, work and legacy of the Emirates' founder, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
• The museum tells the story of the region's history and development through six permanent galleries spread over two floors that cover 300,000 years of human history.
• You will see priceless artifacts from the Paleolithic, Neolithic, Bronze and Iron Ages, as well as masterpieces from the early Islamic and modern eras. Highlights include the legendary Abu Dhabi Pearl (one of the oldest in the world) and the Blue Qur'an, one of the most significant works of Islamic art.

Architecture and experience

• The building, designed by world-renowned architecture studio Foster + Partners, impresses with its five towers symbolizing the wings of a falcon - the national symbol of the UAE. They are not only an architectural masterpiece, but also sustainable "thermal chimneys" that cool the space in a traditional system.
• Around the museum, you'll stroll in the Masar Garden, a garden with iconic native plants and an ancient phalanx irrigation system.
• The museum provides fully accessible spaces for people of all ages and people with special needs.
